Barrie Wentzell
Barrie Wentzell is one of the most important chroniclers of British music in the 1960s and 1970s. As a staff photographer for Melody Maker, he gained unparalleled access to the artists who transformed popular culture, producing some of the most recognizable images of David Bowie, Elton John, The Who, Rod Stewart, and countless others.
Rather than documenting performances alone, Wentzell photographed musicians in studios, backstage, on the road, and in moments of rare intimacy. His work captures the emergence of a new visual language in popular music, recording the personalities, ambitions, and transformations that defined an era.
Today, Barrie Wentzell's photographs are recognized as an essential record of modern music history and are held in private and institutional collections worldwide.
All photographs are available as fine art prints produced from the original negatives or transparencies and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
