David Bowie photographed by Barrie Wentzell in 1973.
1973 was the year of Aladdin Sane and of the abrupt retirement of Ziggy Stardust, announced from the stage of the Hammersmith Odeon that July. Wentzell photographed Bowie repeatedly through the period in which the character was created, sustained and discarded.
