Traffic photographed by Barrie Wentzell in 1968, in colour.

Steve Winwood had left the Spencer Davis Group at nineteen to form the band, which retreated to a cottage in Berkshire to write and rehearse away from London. The records they made there drew on folk, jazz and rhythm and blues in equal measure, and were among the most quietly influential British albums of the period.
