About this work

Television was photographed on First Avenue in New York City in 1977, during the years when the band helped define the art-rock edge of New York punk.

Godlis places the band in the street rather than on stage, using available light and downtown Manhattan atmosphere to document the scene around CBGB.

Available as a museum-quality signed limited edition archival pigment print produced from Godlis' original negative. Each print is individually signed by the photographer and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
