Television

Formed in New York in the mid-1970s, Television became one of the defining bands of the CBGB era and one of the most influential groups in the history of punk and alternative rock. Their performances, rehearsals, and life around downtown Manhattan were documented by many of the photographers who shaped the visual identity of the New York music scene.

This collection brings together rare photographs by Allan Tannenbaum, Godlis, Bob Gruen, Roberta Bayley, and other leading photographers, offering multiple perspectives on the band's remarkable career. Alongside iconic published images are original vintage prints, previously unpublished photographs, and works that have remained in the photographers' archives for decades before being made available to collectors.

As with every TMPG collection, this selection has been curated not simply to document a band, but to preserve an essential chapter in the visual history of popular music through museum-quality photographs of exceptional historical and artistic significance.
