About this work

Chalkie Davies toured the world with Thin Lizzy and shared a house with Phil Lynott. Photographing friends, he says, gives relaxed portraits because "they trust you and it's all in the eyes."

Made on a Sunday day off in Philadelphia, when the two went looking for breakfast: a portrait of Lynott and of the American diner of the time, with its counter jukebox fed with quarters.

Photograph by Chalkie Davies. Available as a print signed by the artist. Sizes, edition details and price on request.
