Chalkie Davies — Fine Art Prints

1 available works

Chalkie Davies photographed British and American music at one of its most inventive moments. Beginning with David Bowie on the Ziggy Stardust tour in 1973 and working for the NME through the punk and new wave years, he made covers and portraits of The Clash, the Ramones, Debbie Harry, Elvis Costello, Ian Dury and Thin Lizzy, before turning to studio portraiture and record sleeves, from The Specials' first album to David Bowie's Absolute Beginners.

His work is held in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery, London, and was the subject of the retrospective Chalkie Davies: The NME Years at the National Museum Wales, Cardiff, in 2015.

This collection presents a selection of photographs from the Chalkie Davies archive, available as signed prints. Prices on request.
