About this work

On the American tour of Thin Lizzy and Graham Parker and the Rumour, Chalkie Davies wanted a picture of the two frontmen together. Driving around Phoenix, they stopped at a "Stop Don't Stop" road sign.

While making close-ups he noticed two men sitting in the heat around the corner, asked Phil Lynott and Graham Parker to stay where they were, crossed the street and made a wider frame. Placing rock stars small in the picture was unusual at the time, but "it made for a very special photo, one of my very finest I think."
