About this work

British bands touring America in the 1970s headed for thrift shops and pawn stores as soon as they checked into their hotels, looking for guitars, stage clothes and winter coats. On this trip a Telecaster found in Buffalo was played by Nick Lowe in an encore that same night.

Photographed in a Buffalo thrift shop during the Blizzard of '78, in fifteen-below temperatures, with Lowe wearing no jacket over his distinctive sweater.

Photograph by Chalkie Davies. Available as a print signed by the artist. Sizes, edition details and price on request.
