About this work

Jimi Hendrix photographed by Barrie Wentzell at the Woburn Music Festival, held in the grounds of Woburn Abbey, Bedfordshire, in July 1968.

The festival was sponsored by Melody Maker, and Hendrix topped the bill. The stage stood some ten feet high, which left photographers at the front seeing little but the performer's head; Wentzell moved behind and to the side to find this view of Hendrix against the crowd.

Archival pigment print. Limited edition of 50. Hand-signed and numbered by Barrie Wentzell. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
