About this work

"This photo has to be the largest group of people that we ever shot." Made for the Trust album at the Hammersmith Palais, where Elvis Costello had spent hours as a boy watching his father rehearse with the Joe Loss Orchestra.

Everyone working with Costello at the time took part, with Glenn Tilbrook and Martin Belmont, and Nick Lowe on saxophone in the front row. The instruments and dinner jackets were rented, Barney Bubbles designed the music stands, and twelve strobe packs were needed to light the room.

Photograph by Chalkie Davies. Available as a print signed by the artist. Sizes, edition details and price on request.
