About this work

Planned for his record company's offices, this NME session was moved at the last minute to Elton John's house near Windsor. Told that nowhere was off limits, Chalkie Davies chose the bedroom suite, with its large speakers, modern art and a bed Elton said dated from the sixteenth century: "it's not every day you see a 400 year old bed surrounded by Modern Art."

The session lasted only minutes. Davies remembers Elton as "simply one of the friendliest people you could ever want to meet."
