About this work

Dr Feelgood were a constant presence in the NME of the mid-1970s, and among the most intense live bands of the period. This photograph comes from Chalkie Davies's only off-stage session with the band, in Belfast.

The trip, with its fortified pubs and roadside army searches, brought home to him the reality of life in Northern Ireland at the time.

Photograph by Chalkie Davies. Available as a print signed by the artist. Sizes, edition details and price on request.
