About this work

Diana Ross photographed by Barrie Wentzell at the BBC Studios in London in 1965, during a break in the taping of Top of the Pops.

Wentzell found her in the rooftop bar, being interviewed by a writer from Melody Maker, and asked whether he might photograph her as they talked. The resulting picture ran on the cover of the paper and brought him to the attention of its assistant editor, Bob Houston — the photograph that began his decade as the magazine's chief photographer.

Archival pigment print. Limited edition of 50. Hand-signed and numbered by Barrie Wentzell. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
