About this work

Because David Byrne is tall and thin, Chalkie Davies had him sit straight to camera and made three successive frames on a Hasselblad, tilting the camera to frame his head, then his chest, then his hands.

Commissioned by The Face in 1981 but not used: "The Face never used it so I'm showing it here for the first time."

Photograph by Chalkie Davies. Available as a print signed by the artist. Sizes, edition details and price on request.
