About this work

Promoter Harvey Goldsmith asked Chalkie Davies to fly home from America to be official photographer at Bob Dylan's Blackbushe concert in 1978. On arrival he was told Dylan had his own photographer and that he was not to photograph Bob at all.

Backstage, Dylan came over to Graham Parker to say he liked his albums, and introduced Davies as "my photographer, Chalkie." Dylan agreed to a picture with Parker. Davies made just three frames before Dylan left.
