Working with unusual proximity to her subjects, Roberts documented musicians both on and off stage, capturing moments that combined spontaneity, personality, and cultural significance. Her photographs offer a unique perspective on the artists who shaped punk, new wave, rock, and pop music during a period of extraordinary creative change.
