U2, Bayswater, London, 1979

A very young U2 in a rented Bayswater flat in the summer of 1979, photographed by Martyn Goddard for the Sunday Telegraph Magazine, one member stretched across a red sofa with a newspaper, the band's name chalked on a flight case, an acoustic guitar and a scatter of cushions completing the picture of a group still years from stadiums.

Goddard photographed U2 in their earliest days in London, and this domestic, almost accidental frame is a rare glimpse of the four Dubliners right at the start.

Produced as museum-quality archival pigment prints from the original transparency, each print is individually signed by Martyn Goddard and released in strictly limited editions.
