About the Work

Bob Gruen photographed the Ramones at CBGB on April 10, 1979, during the band’s final appearance at the club. The image records their return to the Bowery venue that had provided the stage for their earliest performances and the emergence of New York punk.

This original vintage gelatin silver print measures 7½ × 9½ in (19.1 × 24.1 cm). A rare vintage work from Gruen’s documentation of the Ramones and New York punk.
