About the Photograph
The photograph that became the cover of Queen II, London 1974 — the four members lit from above in the diamond formation later revived for the ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ video, and one of the most recognised images in rock.
This is a unique late print — a lifetime print drawn from Mick Rock's own archive and personal collection. It is signed by the photographer on the front and, most unusually, inscribed in his own hand along the lower-left margin — “QUEEN 2 ALBUM COVER, LONDON 1974” — a gesture Rock almost never made. No other example is known, making it a genuine one-of-a-kind.
Archival pigment print on photographic paper, 16 × 20 inches. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and provenance. From the personal collection of Mick Rock, offered by The Music Photo Gallery. Price on request.
