About this work

This image of Katz’s Delicatessen places Chris Stein’s photographic practice within the broader texture of New York City. The storefront becomes a cultural marker, carrying the history of neighborhood, signage, and urban memory.

Although Stein is widely associated with Blondie and downtown music, his photographs also attend to the city that formed the scene around it. Here, place itself becomes the subject, held with the same directness as his portraits.

Open Edition. Archival pigment print on premium cotton photographic paper. Certificate of Authenticity included. Worldwide insured shipping.
