About the Work
Bob Gruen photographed Johnny Ramone performing with the Ramones at Wollman Rink in Central Park, New York City, on August 6, 1979. The concert formed part of the Dr Pepper Summer Music Festival and placed the band on one of New York’s best-known outdoor stages.
This original vintage gelatin silver print measures 7⅜ × 9½ in (18.7 × 24.1 cm). A rare vintage work from Gruen’s documentation of the Ramones and New York punk.
