About this work

Tina Turner singing from a low angle in Rotterdam, Netherlands, 1971, photographed by Gijsbert Hanekroot.

Photographed from below, Turner leans toward the microphone with her mouth open and one knee entering the foreground. The low viewpoint enlarges the gesture while a bright pool of stage light opens behind her against the black field. Hanekroot uses the horizontal frame to preserve the sweep of her body and the immediate physical force of the vocal moment.

Each print is produced from the original photograph, hand-signed by Gijsbert Hanekroot on the front, stamped on the verso, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by the gallery. All works are limited edition.

Vintage prints from the original period may be available upon request. Please contact the gallery for further information.
