Turner grips the microphone with both hands, eyes closed and face lifted as warm stage light falls across her sequined costume. The horizontal crop concentrates on head, shoulders, and hands, leaving the surrounding stage almost entirely dark. Hanekroot’s color image records the intensity of the vocal gesture through expression and posture rather than through a wider view of the performance.
