About this work

David Bowie paused at the microphone in 1976, photographed by Gijsbert Hanekroot.

Bowie turns slightly away from the microphone with his hands joined, caught in a pause rather than a full vocal gesture. A small cloud of breath or stage haze is visible beside his face, while the background remains almost entirely dark. Hanekroot uses the open negative space to emphasize the interval between actions and the fine articulation of Bowie’s hands and profile.

Each work is offered as a limited-edition archival pigment print, hand-signed and stamped by Gijsbert Hanekroot, with a certificate of authenticity included.

Vintage prints from the original period may be available upon request. Please contact the gallery for further information.
