About the Photograph
Freddie Mercury during a solo session at Mick Rock's London studio, 1974, chin resting on laced hands — a tender colour portrait of the singer off guard.
This is a unique late print — a lifetime print drawn from Mick Rock's own archive and personal collection. It is signed by the photographer on the front and, most unusually, inscribed in his own hand along the lower-left margin — “MICK'S STUDIO, LONDON 1974 SOLO SESSION” — a gesture Rock almost never made. No other example is known, making it a genuine one-of-a-kind.
Archival pigment print on photographic paper, 16 × 20 inches. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and provenance. From the personal collection of Mick Rock, offered by The Music Photo Gallery. Price on request.
