About the Work

The frame condenses the breadth of downtown New York — the punk-pop crossover and its furthest avant-garde edge — into a single image, at the moment Blondie were one of the most-watched acts on the planet.

Cibachrome (Ilfochrome) print, 11 × 14 inches, executed in 1980. Number 2 from an edition of 25, signed, titled, numbered and dated by the artist on the reverse. Long discontinued, the Cibachrome process leaves every surviving example among the last of its kind.
