About the Photograph
Debbie Harry photographed on the set of Blondie's "Heart of Glass" video in 1978 by Roberta Bayley — the single that carried the band from downtown New York's cult scene to number one in both the United States and the United Kingdom. She wears the silver asymmetrical dress designed by Stephen Sprouse, its television-scanline shimmer catching the lights, with both hands raised into her hair.

Cibachrome (Ilfochrome) print, 20 × 16 inches (50.8 × 40.6 cm), executed in 1978. Number 6 from an edition of 25, signed, titled, numbered and dated by the artist on the reverse. The Cibachrome process is prized for its optical luminosity, colour saturation and archival permanence; long discontinued, every surviving example is among the last of its kind.
