Debbie Harry at CBGB in 1975, at the very start of Blondie's life as a band. The Bowery club was the crucible of New York punk, and Stein's photograph places Harry there before the fame, when the scene was still small enough to fit in one room.

Made from inside the band, the picture is a document of origins. Stein wasn't visiting the scene at CBGB — he was helping build it, camera in hand.
