About the Work
A cibachrome print of an enlarged Polaroid of Debbie Harry, photographed by Roberta Bayley in Boston in 1978 — the year Blondie released Parallel Lines and crossed from CBGB cult act to one of the most-watched groups in the world. A close-up of Harry with blonde hair, blue eye-shadow and red lips, captioned in Bayley's hand and printed in the 1990s. The image served as the cover of Bayley's book Blondie Unseen 1976–1980.
Photograph by Roberta Bayley.
Cibachrome (Ilfochrome) print, 19 × 23⅜ inches, executed in 1978. One of three artist's proofs, double-signed, titled and dated by the artist on the reverse. Long discontinued, the Cibachrome process leaves every surviving example among the last of its kind.
