About the Work

Vintage gelatin silver print of David Bowie by Mick Rock, made at Oxford Town Hall in 1972 during the Ziggy Stardust era. A unique early print from the artist's archive, handwritten by Mick Rock on the verso.

Mick Rock served as David Bowie's official photographer during the Ziggy Stardust period, and his black-and-white images from these years became some of the defining portraits of the era. This print captures Bowie in Rock's intimate, immediate style.

A unique vintage piece, one of a kind, printed in the period. Sheet size approximately 8 x 10 inches (20.3 x 25.4 cm). No equivalent example is known to exist.
