David Bowie and Mick Ronson are photographed by Mick Rock in the notorious “Guitar Fellatio” image of 1972, in which Bowie mimed playing Ronson’s guitar with his teeth on stage — one of the most provocative and celebrated moments of the Ziggy Stardust show.
Mick Rock — “the man who shot the seventies” — held rare, sustained access to the era’s defining artists, from David Bowie and Lou Reed to Iggy Pop and Queen. This photograph belongs to a group of unique vintage prints from his personal archive held by The Music Photo Gallery.
