Made in New York City in 1978, this work brings together Andy Warhol and Debbie Harry at a moment when downtown music, art, and celebrity were becoming inseparable cultural languages. The rooftop setting places the encounter within the informal spaces where much of that exchange took shape.

Chris Stein’s position within Blondie and the wider downtown scene gave him access to a circle where performance, fashion, publishing, and visual art overlapped without ceremony. His photographs record that world from within, attentive to gesture, proximity, and the unguarded rhythms of collaboration.
