Biography

Timothy White is an award-winning fine art photographer and creative director whose images have helped shape contemporary celebrity portraiture. For more than four decades, he has worked across Hollywood, music, advertising, and fashion, creating photographs that define public identities while preserving important moments in pop culture.

Known for evocative images with a strong narrative quality, White combines technical command with an unusual ability to build trust and intimacy with his subjects. His photographs have been exhibited by galleries and museums around the world, and his archive is regarded as one of the most extensive records of modern entertainment culture.

White has photographed leading figures including Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Aretha Franklin, Harrison Ford, Robin Williams, Whoopi Goldberg, Michael Jackson, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, and Paul McCartney. His work extends beyond individual assignments: the access and confidence he develops with his subjects often create rare, spontaneous encounters that become lasting cultural documents.

His achievements include the Lucie Award for International Photographer of the Year, recognition by American Photo among the most important people in photography, and induction into the New Jersey Hall of Fame.

Alongside his commercial and fine-art practice, White has supported numerous nonprofit organizations as an activist and by donating his time and work. These collaborations include amfAR, Stuart House, City Harvest, the Joyful Heart Foundation, Operation Smile, and Recycle Across America.
