My Ramones brings together the original photographs of Danny Fields, the legendary music manager, journalist and cultural catalyst who discovered and managed the Ramones during their formative years. Drawn from his personal archive, the exhibition offers an intimate and firsthand account of the band’s emergence, documenting the friendships, performances and everyday moments that helped shape one of the most influential groups in the history of rock music.
Featuring rare photographs, contact sheets and archival material, the exhibition follows the Ramones through New York City's downtown music scene of the mid-1970s, from CBGB and Max's Kansas City to the streets, clubs and backstage spaces where the visual language of punk first took form.
More than a retrospective of a band, My Ramones explores the relationship between artist and documentarian. Through Danny Fields' unique perspective, visitors encounter the people, places and cultural environment that gave rise to a movement whose influence continues to resonate across music, fashion, photography and contemporary culture.
The exhibition also highlights Danny Fields' broader role within the cultural history of the period, connecting the Ramones to the wider network of artists, writers, musicians and creative figures who transformed downtown New York into one of the most influential artistic communities of the twentieth century.
