From the Mick Rock Archive
Vintage Photographs and Unique Archival Works
The final chapter of this collection presents a rare selection of original vintage photographs and unique archival objects from the personal archive of Mick Rock.
Presented publicly for the first time following its debut at Photo London, this remarkable group of works offers direct access to the archive of the photographer who helped construct the visual identity of David Bowie during the Ziggy Stardust years.
The selection includes original contact sheets, vintage gelatin silver prints, working materials and other unique photographic objects produced during the period in which the images were created. Several contain previously unpublished photographs of Bowie, preserved within Rock's archive for more than fifty years and never before made available to the public.
These are not later edition prints but original historical objects that bear the marks of the photographic process itself. They reveal how some of the most influential images in the history of rock photography were conceived, edited and preserved, offering an exceptional insight into Mick Rock's creative practice.
Available through The Music Photo Gallery, this collection has been assembled for museums, cultural institutions and distinguished private collectors seeking works of exceptional rarity, provenance and historical significance.
